General Contractor: Felmley Dickerson
ISU Administrator Contact: Rick Kentzler
ISU Project Manager: Allan Feltner
Project Status: Construction
Fund Source: Foundation
Project Budget: $2,500,000
The project budget for Genevieve Green Gardens is approximately a $2.5 million and is funded by the ISU Foundation.
The project is moving forward as well as can be expected due to the cold winter and wet spring. Fortunately, mother nature has been cooperative lately with the exception of some wet weather and the progress is moving forward nicely.
The general contractor has completed the garage storage building and has installed the overhead door and passage door. The garage will be punched out and turned over to the ISU Foundation sometime in early September. Approximately 95% of the fencing for the site is completed. The irrigation system appears to be operational on both the north lawn and the east lawn. The north lawn has new grass established and growing and looks very good with the exception of a few locations that have been reseeded
Approximately80% of the irrigation system is completed, and the underground piping for the electrical wiring connection to the site lights is being installed in the south lawn area. The landscape contractor will be working on the preparation of the lawn area, and installing plantings after 100% completion of the irrigation and underground electrical wiring system. In addition, the Shakespeare Festival was finished in mid-August, and the contractor has begun to remove the existing on the south lawn. The paver contractor is currently installing brick pavers in the south compass garden area, and the arbor area. The stone mason is scheduled to return to the site this week and begin installing stone at the new fountain additionlocation. The ornamental iron for the arbor is scheduled to be installed the second week of September, and will then be followed by the completion of the stone columns in the arbor.
The project has experienced some delay lately due to the rain. However, the project is still scheduled for an early October completion. If Mother Nature gives us good weather, this project is expected to be completed in the middle of Fall semester of 2007 and will be ready for October dedication.
