Description

As part of the Long-Range Plan for Housing and Dining Services, Linkins Dining Center is the first Dining Services facility to be renovated. Linkins Dining Center is surrounded by Tri-Towers at West Campus. The project will upgrade and completely rehabilitate the facility.

A few highlights are:

Upper level:

The upper level of Linkins Dining Center is now substantially completed and in mid-August was reopened to serve the students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

This facility was completely gutted and went through an extensive rehabilitation. The new upgrade includes new kitchens, serving counter areas, a dish room with a new conveyor belt and dish machine, and various seating areas. It also includes new lighting, multi-colored wall tiles, ceiling grids, a private dining room, and new furniture.

Currently, the general contractor, Bishop Brothers, and the other trades contractors are diligently working to complete their punch lists in the upper level and finish the lower level.

Lower level:

A handicapped accessible lift from the lower level to the upper level is now being installed and will be ready to use after the lower level construction is completed.

The work remaining to be done includes ceiling grids, light fixtures, hook ups, floor tiles, painting, clean up, etc. The project is anticipated to be complete in September 2007.
